After two years of steady focus on development, product sourcing and testing, we are delighted to announce the unveiling of our Brick Slips Division. Working closely with industry experts, we have encapsulated both products and services to streamline procurement and fulfilment processes across the industry. Read on to discover how we are embracing the high-rise, the low-rise and the rise of the brick slip.
For over a decade, Imperial Bricks has been known for its wide selection of handmade, wirecut and pressed bricks. Our biggest USPs are our specialist services in providing hard-to-source, regional variations alongside our brick-matching service and our tumbling and weathering capabilities. We have had the pleasure of working closely behind the scenes on exciting heritage and restoration projects, such as the Royal Academy of Arts, Cambridge Military Hospital, the Eastenders set rebuild, and last year’s Grand Designs reimagination of a traditional barn, The Foxes Maltings.
Over the last few years, there has been a significant shift in the industry towards modern methods of construction (MMC), driven by key factors including housing and labour shortages, planning constraints, and the growing importance of sustainability within construction methods. While continuing to offer our standard brick products, we set our sights on adapting to MMC trends and how to balance the heritage brick aesthetic while responding to the growing demand for lightweight, easy-to-install alternatives to traditional brickwork.
We are excited to announce the launch of our Brick Slips Division, featuring an expanded range of over 150 products and a full-cutting service accessible to all within the industry. We now offer brick slips for mechanical, external wall insulation (EWI), precast, and glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) cladding systems. These slips have a wide arc of colours and textures, enabling us to provide architects, developers and self-builders with solutions that can either preserve the heritage and character of traditional brickwork or push the boundaries of contemporary design.
Alongside a fantastic product offering, we are proud to introduce our CUTTING SERVICE, with two custom-built continuous line setups. These bespoke machines enable us to cut and profile slips to meet any system requirements in a single, efficient process. This purpose-built 750m² factory can accommodate six million slips per year and facilitate the full spectrum of the UK’s brick slip profiling needs, allowing us to cut and profile across the largest product range in the brick facade market.
In development for over two years, Imperial’s new venture is about more than just delivering a product; it’s about providing a complete service: precision, compliance, capability and volume. With the strengthened provisions of the updated Building Safety Act 2022 having dramatically reshaped the facade sector, we are excited to offer a straightforward pathway to Gateway 2 approval with all our products. By working with strategic partners across mechanical, EWI, precast and GRC system manufacturers, we can be confident that the entire cladding process can be thoroughly documented and evidenced.
